Subsidised training

Own Your Story is a registered KMO-portefeuille service provider for training. Flemish SMEs can recover part of the fee for our eligible programs.

What the KMO-portefeuille is

The KMO-portefeuille (SME wallet) is a subsidy from the Flemish government that helps entrepreneurs invest in their own development. Through it, an enterprise can recover a share of what it spends on training and advice from recognised service providers — up to €7,500 in support per year.

Own Your Story is a recognised provider

ianka fleerackers CommV, operating as Own Your Story, is a recognised KMO-portefeuille service provider for the training pillar.

This registration is a precondition for our training to be paid via the KMO-portefeuille. It does not, in itself, constitute an assessment of the quality of the service provided. Note that only our training programs are eligible — advisory-only work is excluded under the scheme.

How much you can recover

  • Small enterprises (< 50 FTE): 30% support — maximum €7,500 per year.
  • Medium-sized enterprises (< 250 FTE): 20% support — maximum €7,500 per year.

You pay your own contribution into the electronic wallet, and the Flemish agency adds the subsidy. You then pay the provider from the wallet.

Who is eligible

Small and medium-sized enterprises and certain liberal professions whose operational headquarters are located in the Flemish Region, and that meet the scheme’s conditions on enterprise type and main activity. Some sectors and activity types are excluded by the government’s rules.

How to apply and receive the subsidy

  1. Register your enterprise as a user on the VLAIO website in advance, using your federal token or electronic identity card.
  2. Agree on the program with us and receive your invoice.
  3. Submit your subsidy application within 14 days of the start of the training.
  4. Pay your own contribution into the electronic wallet within 14 days. The Flemish agency adds the subsidy.
  5. The provider is paid from the wallet — and you take part in the program.

The registration must be in order before the training begins, so start the process in good time. Granting of the subsidy does not affect your agreement with Own Your Story; it is not a ground for cancellation.
